What is PPc

Bid-based PCC

  1. In the pay-per-click model advertising technique, advertisers bid with one another for a specific keyword or phrase. The price paid for click depends on 3 main things. First, the demand and popularity of a particular keyword or phrase.  The demand is determined by the ever-changing auctions and number of people bidding on specific phrases and words.
  2. Another factor is the relevance of your specific website URL to the particular phrase bought. Also, note that each URL, specific web page of a website, can be better optimized for specific phrases. Linking directly to the URL in a website that is most relevant to the keyword phrases purchased through Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, or any number of other pay-per-click providers.
  3. The relevance of your particular classified advertisement and how well it reinforces and compliments the your phrase and website are also key.  As such, it is not enough that your website be highly relevant to the chosen phrase, but also that your advertisement be relevant to that phrase.
Each bidder tells the host of the amount of money he is willing to pay for a spot. The auction then plays out automatically whenever a visitor activates the advertisement spot.  If the ad spot lies within the Search Engine Results Page (SERP), typically on the right side, next to the organic search results, those achieved through SEO. Additionally, some cap-per-click providers allow a few advertisements to appear above all the organic search results, and in the same column. The cost per click for such placement is consistently much higher than other slots. The cost per click varies on both the keyword phrase and the order in which it appears within competing pay-per-click ads.

The auction is triggered every time a search is conducted on the bid keyword. The winner is then determined by comparing the geo-location, time and day when the search was conducted. In cases where several ad spots are chosen, as is usually the case with SERPs, multiple winners are picked and their positions on the page determined according to the amount of money each placed on the bid. Often, the advertisement with the highest bid comes up first, although factors such as relevance and quality of the advertisement may play a role in its positioning. Pay-per-click campaigns can provide advertisers instant traffic for any keyword or phrase. The relevance of the website to the phrase, as well as demand, will control the price per click. Therefore, try to optimize your website as much as possible before beginning your campaign to at least lessen the cost per click. Over time, continued optimization will cause the website to appear in the organic results, for free.
